CALL FOR SCORES
Do you love writing for the piano? I'm inviting people of all ages and nationalities to submit original works for solo piano that, if chosen, will be recorded and posted on my YouTube channel! By doing so, I hope to expose new composers to a broader audience and celebrate the richness of the growing contemporary piano repertoire.
Irene Huang is currently pursuing a double major in Composition and Piano Performance at the Eastman School of Music. She holds ARCT Performer diplomas with First Class Honours with Distinction in both piano (2018) and violin (2022) from the Royal Conservatory of Music. As a solo and collaborative pianist, Irene is passionate about championing new music and bringing today’s composers’ voices to the forefront.
What You’ll Receive:
A Zoom call where you can offer direct feedback on my progress with the piece
A video recording of your composition uploaded to my YouTube channel which you may share freely
Optional: A recorded meet-the-composer interview that will be posted as a separate video prior to the release of your piece on my YouTube channel - only if you’d like!
How to Submit:
Please email your score to irenehuangmusic@gmail.com with the subject line: "Call for Scores Submission – [Your Name]".
Submission Guidelines:
Email me a PDF of the score (digitally notated – no handwritten manuscripts)
All styles are welcome: classical, contemporary, jazz, pop, fusion, etc.
The piece does not have to be unperformed
Works must not be under YouTube copyright restrictions, so my recording can be shared publicly
Optional: audio or MIDI mock-up
No deadline! Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis
